The difference betweeen Contests, Conferences and Conventions.
- Contests happen at Club and Area, Division or District level and are speech competitions at which people compete in a variety of Contests; International (or English Prepared), Evaluations, Table Topics (or Impromptu), Humorous and Tall Tales are some examples.
- 'Conferences happen at Area, Division, District and Region level. They usually include an Area, Division or District Contest, but also include other content. For examples of a Conference, go to Playcon, Kammacon, or http://www.maxicon.co.za
- The Toastmasters International Convention is an annual event at which the International Champion of Public Speaking is recognised. It is a conference as well, but the highlight is the contest between the world's top speakers.
