Peter Christie - Storytelling and Leadership: A Traditional Art For A Modern Age. It is ironic that in an age where electronic communications are so prevalent and pervasive, there is a worldwide trend towards storytelling, a creative meeting of tradition and modernity. In many settings including business, politics, education and culture, effective leaders are rediscovering the power of the spoken word as the ultimate art of influence. This presentation will outline the reasons why this trend has emerged, provide some examples of the applications in society towards which storytelling has no equal, specify how leaders in all spheres and all levels can use storytelling to help create a better world, and indicate the universal qualities required of the leader as storyteller.
Len Berzen - Technology and Communication Trends into the Future. A serious but light hearted look at where technology that is enabling and in some cases frustrating communication is going. Issues that will be covered include global communication, internet telephony and video conferencing, security and profiling, privacy, information overload and some fun but useful services and toys that begun to emerge.
